Our marble and granite showroom in El Deresa
Stone is not chosen from a photograph. At our showroom in El Deresa, Alexandria, you see the stone in person, compare finishes and talk it through with our team, drawings in hand.
Where is the showroom, and when is it open?
The showroom is in El Deresa, Alexandria, and our head office is in El Ibrahimya. The opening hours shown on our site are Saturday to Thursday, 09:00 to 18:00, Egypt time.
To ask anything before you come, call or WhatsApp +20 106 926 2572. We suggest sending a message before your visit, to confirm the time and tell us what you want to see.

What you can do at the showroom
The showroom is a place to make decisions, not just to browse. What you can do there:
- See stone in person: the real colour, veining and texture, which photos and screens never show accurately.
- Compare finishes: polished, honed and textured surfaces, and which suits a floor, a wall or a kitchen.
- Bring your drawings and measurements and go through them with our team, so the conversation is about where each stone goes in your home, not about the stone alone.
- Talk to our team about thickness, edges and installation, and about supply-only or supply with installation.
What is on show changes, so if you have a particular stone from the catalogue in mind, name it in your message before you come and ask whether you can see it.
How to choose stone in person
Natural stone never repeats, and two slabs of the same stone can differ in colour and veining. These are the points that matter when you choose:
Look at the whole slab, not the sample
A small sample shows the colour only. A full slab shows how the veining moves and spreads, and any spots or variation. Choose on the largest piece you can see.
Check the veining and its direction
Decide whether you want quiet or bold veining, and whether it should run one way across the room. For a TV wall or a bathroom you may need consecutive slabs from the same block to make a book-match.
Compare finishes on the same stone
The same stone changes colour and feel between polished, honed, brushed or bush-hammered. Ask for finish samples and compare them side by side.
Ask about thickness
The right thickness differs between floors, walls, stairs and kitchen worktops. Ask what thickness is available in the stone you chose and what suits each use.
Ask about edges and details
Square, bevelled, half-round or full-round edges, mitred corners, stair nosings, and cut-outs for the sink and hob are all agreed before cutting.
See it under more than one light
Marble looks different in daylight and under warm artificial light. Look at it under both, and think about the light in the room where it will go.
Finishes compared
Choosing the finish matters as much as choosing the stone. A practical summary:
| Finish | Look | Suits | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polished | Reflects light and shows colour strongly | Walls and quieter indoor floors | Shows scratches and wear more, and can be slippery when wet |
| Honed | Smooth, with no shine | Floors, bathrooms and modern interiors | Can take stains more readily; may need a sealer depending on the stone |
| Bush-hammered, or flamed (granite) | Rough to the touch | Outdoor areas and around pools | Harder to clean than smooth surfaces |
| Brushed or leathered | Soft, gently undulating texture | Feature walls and kitchen worktops | The texture holds dirt if it is not cleaned properly |
What to bring on your visit
- Drawings or a floor plan of the unit, even hand-drawn, with measurements.
- Measurements of where the stone will go: floors, stairs, kitchen worktops, bathrooms, the TV wall.
- Photos of the space as it is today, and of ideas you like.
- Samples of other materials in the home (a wardrobe door, a paint colour, a tile) to compare against the stone.
- A shortlist of the stones you liked in the catalogue on our site.

Itmam: from the showroom to installation
Itmam is a finishing, decoration and supply company, with its head office in El Ibrahimya and its showroom in El Deresa, Alexandria. You can buy stone supply-only, or have us template, cut and install it: marble and granite are templated, cut and installed by the same team, and stone tops, kitchens, wardrobes, doors and vanities are made in our own workshops.
We work in Alexandria, on the North Coast and in New Cairo and the Fifth Settlement, and elsewhere in Egypt when the job suits. On a finishing contract you pay each supplier directly and the tax invoice is in your name; our fee for supervision and execution is agreed in writing before work starts. We have been in this business for 20+ years.
