Textured-render street façade with two ground-floor shop units opened up for works

Build & MEP

Restaurants, Cafés & Shops

A commercial unit has two hard deadlines: the day you said you would open, and the day the authorities decide whether you may stay open. We fit out restaurants, cafés, bakeries, pharmacies, clinics, salons and retail — shopfront, kitchen, extraction, counters, joinery, lighting, signage and the fire-safety works that Civil Defence will ask to see — sequenced so the unit is not sitting dark while the rent runs.

Scope of works

What we actually do.

Everything below happens inside our business — no subcontracted links in the chain.

  1. 01

    Shopfronts & façades

Rendered and clad façades, glazed fronts, roller shutters, canopies and pergolas. In Siwa we rebuilt a whole trading street to one language — rendered elevations with crenellated parapets and a continuous timber pergola running the length of the shops.

  2. 02

    Commercial kitchens & extraction

Stainless benching and shelving, extraction canopy with grease filters, ducting carried to roof level, make-up air so the room does not go negative, grease trap, floor gullies and washable wall and floor finishes.

  3. 03

    Counters, seating & joinery

Service counters and back-bars topped in granite, quartz or sintered stone, display units, banquette seating, shelving and menu joinery — drawn, made in our own workshop and installed by the same team.

  4. 04

    Lighting, signage & power

Lighting designed for the product rather than the ceiling grid: track and accent lighting over counters, warm light in seating areas, illuminated signage and fascia, and clean power and data for tills, card machines and displays.

  5. 05

Fire safety & Civil Defence works

Fire-fighting provision, detection and alarm, emergency lighting and escape signage installed and documented for Civil Defence (الحماية المدنية) sign-off. What a unit needs depends on its use, size and building, so we confirm the requirement with the authority for your premises before pricing rather than after.

Selection

Units we fit out

  • RestaurantFull kitchen

Back of house first — extraction, gas, drainage and grease trap — then the room the customer sees. The kitchen decides the programme, never the seating.

  • Café & bakeryCounter-led

A stone counter people lean on all day, display refrigeration, the coffee machine services run properly, and an oven extraction route agreed with the building before anyone orders equipment.

  • Pharmacy & clinicRegulated use

Washable finishes, controlled storage, a dispensing counter that works standing up, treatment rooms with their own drainage and power, and quiet lighting rather than retail glare.

  • Salon & beautyWater & power heavy

Wash units, water heating, drainage in the middle of a floor, mirrors, ventilation and enough circuits for every appliance that will eventually be plugged in.

  • Retail & showroomDisplay-led

Shopfront glazing, display joinery, track lighting on the product and a stockroom that is not an afterthought carved out of the shop.

  • A whole street of unitsSiwa

Pharmacy, bakery, grocery and coffee shop rebuilt together — rendered façades, parapets, pergolas and shopfronts detailed as one street rather than four arguments.

Questions we get asked

Restaurants, Cafés & Shops — questions we get asked

Does a shop or restaurant need Civil Defence approval?
Commercial premises in Egypt are expected to have fire-fighting provision, detection and alarm, emergency lighting and clear escape routes, and to be signed off by Civil Defence (الحماية المدنية) before trading. Exactly what your unit needs depends on its use, area, occupancy and the building it sits in, so we establish the requirement with the authority at the start and build to it — rather than fitting out first and discovering the shortfall at inspection, which is how units end up closed for weeks.
How do you stop kitchen smells reaching the flats above?
A canopy with proper capture velocity, grease filters, sealed ducting carried to roof level, and make-up air so the kitchen is not pulling from the dining room. The classic failure is a short duct discharging into a ceiling void or a side wall at first-floor level — cheap on the day, and the reason a landlord or a neighbour eventually forces the unit to close.
Can you work at night so we do not lose trading days?
Yes, and in the malls and busy streets of New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed and Alexandria it is often the only way. We work night shifts with dust screens, floor protection and noise-controlled methods, and hand the space back clean each morning. Deliveries and waste removal are booked around the building rules rather than argued about at the loading bay.
How long does a café fit-out take?
A small unit is realistically four to eight weeks and a full restaurant eight to sixteen, from a bare shell. The long poles are almost never the decoration: they are the extraction route and its approval, the stone counter template, imported equipment and signage permission. We price and order those first so they are not what holds up your opening.
Do you take on a whole parade or street of shops?
Yes. We rebuilt a market street in Siwa as a single job — pharmacy, bakery, grocery and coffee shop — with new rendered façades, crenellated parapets, a continuous timber pergola and reworked shopfronts. Doing them together is how a street gets one coherent frontage instead of four different ideas fighting each other.
