Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm & Security

Fire systems get bought twice — once cheaply to satisfy an inspection, and again properly after something happens. We install wet risers, hose reels, sprinkler mains, addressable alarm panels and kitchen hood suppression to a design that will pass Civil Defence and still work in year ten. Homes, and the cafes, restaurants, clinics and shops that cannot open their doors without a licence.

Scope of works

What we actually do.

Everything below happens inside our business — no subcontracted links in the chain.

  1. 01

Fire fighting — risers, mains & hose reels

Signal-red steel wet risers and sprinkler mains bracketed off the structure, landing valves, hose reel cabinets and extinguishers to the right classes, fed by a pump set with jockey pump and a diesel or electric duty pump. Flushed, pressure tested and witnessed before sign-off.

  2. 02

    Sprinklers & kitchen hood suppression

Pendant and sidewall heads on hydraulically calculated ranges, and wet-chemical suppression over fryers and ranges with automatic gas and fan shut-off. Hood suppression is the item most often missing when a restaurant fails its inspection.

  3. 03

    Fire alarm & emergency lighting

Addressable loop panels with detectors, sounders, beacons and break-glass call points, interfaced to lifts, dampers and shutters where they exist; conventional zoned panels on smaller premises. Maintained and non-maintained emergency lighting on three-hour batteries with a drawn exit-sign layout.

  4. 04

CCTV, access control & low current

IP cameras with recording sized for the retention period you actually need, card or PIN access control, video intercom, gate control, intruder alarm and Cat6 structured cabling — the full low-current package, or التيار المنخفض, run on galvanised tray and trunking rather than cable-tied to a pipe.

  5. 05

    Control panels & containment

Industrial control panels built on DIN terminal rails with relay logic, ferruled cores, labelled cores and tested continuity, plus the galvanised tray, basket and conduit containment coordinated against the fire main so both fit the same ceiling void.

Selection

What we install, and where

  • Cafe & restaurant licence packageCommercial

Extinguishers, hose reel, alarm, emergency lighting, signage and hood suppression, drawn and installed against what Civil Defence will ask for. The licence is the deliverable, not the box of equipment.

  • Shop, showroom & clinic fit-outCommercial

Detection and alarm coverage, emergency lighting, escape signage and the low-current package, sequenced so the fire works finish before the ceilings close.

  • Villa fire & securityResidential

Heat and smoke detection in kitchens, plant rooms and bedroom lobbies, intruder alarm, CCTV, video intercom and gate control on one platform you can see from a phone.

  • Chalet security while emptySahel

Cameras with off-site recording, door and shutter contacts, a leak sensor, and an alarm path that still reports when the power drops. Most out-of-season loss is water and opportunists.

  • Control panels & containmentIndustrial

Bespoke panels built and wired in the workshop to a schedule, then containment and terminations on site. Everything ferruled, labelled and handed over as a drawing set.

Questions we get asked

Fire Fighting, Alarm & Security — questions we get asked

What does Civil Defence actually require for a cafe?
It varies with floor area, occupancy and whether you cook. In practice a small cafe is asked for extinguishers of the right classes, an alarm with call points and sounders, emergency lighting and escape signage, a hose reel where the area warrants one, and wet-chemical suppression over any fryer or range hood — all shown on drawings from a licensed office. We prepare the drawings, install to them and attend the inspection. We will not promise an outcome we do not control, but we will not hand you a system that is going to fail one either.
Addressable or conventional alarm panel?
Conventional is cheaper and perfectly adequate on a small single-floor unit, where a zone tells you enough. Addressable earns its cost the moment you have more than a handful of zones, because the panel names the exact device rather than a whole area, which turns a false alarm at 2am into a two-minute job instead of a search. On anything with a kitchen, a plant room and a public area, go addressable.
Can you work in a shop that is already trading?
Yes, and most of our commercial work is exactly that. We run first fix and containment out of hours, keep the existing detection live until the new panel is commissioned, and do the noisy core drilling before opening. What we will not do is leave a premises unprotected overnight in the middle of a changeover.
Do you cover the low-current package as well as fire?
Yes — CCTV, access control, intercom, data cabling, gate automation and alarm all come from the same team on the same containment. Splitting fire from low current across two contractors is where the coordination fails: two sets of tray fighting for the same void, and nobody owning the final commissioning.
What protects a chalet that is empty nine months a year?
Cameras that record off site rather than to a box a thief can carry, contacts on the doors and shutters, a leak sensor with a motorised shut-off on the incoming main, and a communication path with battery backup so a power cut does not silence the system. Most of what goes wrong in an empty coastal unit is water, and the second most is a door left unattended.
