Trade supply

Plumbing & Sanitary Supply

Pipe, fittings, valves and sanitary ware are sold across the counter and delivered to site, with no requirement that we do the first-fix. A homeowner replacing a bathroom, a plumber loading out a villa and an engineer ordering against a services drawing all buy the same way, on trade terms, from the same stock we draw on for our own installations. Quantities are priced on the day against the schedule, since imported fittings and sanitary ware reprice with the currency and no published figure would survive.

Scope of works

What we actually do.

Everything below happens inside our business — no subcontracted links in the chain.

  1. 01

    PPR hot & cold pipe

Polypropylene pressure pipe in PN16, PN20 and PN25, from 20 up to 63 millimetres, plain and fibre-reinforced, with the full fitting range — elbows, tees, sockets, reducers, threaded transitions, unions and valves. PN20 covers most domestic hot and cold distribution. Fibre-reinforced on the hot runs, for the reason set out below.

  2. 02

    PVC & uPVC drainage

Soil, waste and rainwater pipe at 50, 75, 110 and 160 millimetres with the full bend, branch, junction, access and trap range, in solvent-weld and push-fit ring-seal. Plus uPVC pressure pipe for cold water mains and irrigation where a rigid buried line is wanted.

  3. 03

    HDPE & copper

PE100 polyethylene in the common SDR ratings for buried mains, boreholes, irrigation and pump lines, jointed by butt fusion, electrofusion or compression. Copper tube in hard and soft tempers with capillary and compression fittings, for gas, chiller lines and the hot runs where copper is specified.

  4. 04

    Valves, manifolds & controls

Gate, ball, butterfly and non-return valves, strainers, pressure-reducing valves, float valves, angle valves and flexible connectors, plus manifolds for a distribution board layout where every outlet gets its own run and its own isolation. Isolation on every leg is the difference between a service call and a shutdown.

  5. 05

    Water heaters & sanitary ware

Electric storage and instantaneous heaters and gas units, plus pans, cisterns, concealed frames and wall-hung systems, basins, bidets, shower trays, and exposed and concealed mixers. Ordered against your bathroom layout so the rough-in dimensions and the tiling actually agree with each other.

Specification

The numbers, before you ask.

Plumbing & Sanitary Supply — technical specification
PPR pressure pipePN16, PN20 and PN25 from 20 to 63 mm, plain and fibre-reinforced
Fusion weldingSocket-fused near 260 °C, seconds by diameter, no twisting while it sets
Thermal movementPlain PPR moves near 0.15 mm per metre per degree; fibre pipe far less
DrainagePVC and uPVC at 50, 75, 110 and 160 mm, solvent weld or ring seal
Buried & mainsHDPE PE100 in the common SDR ratings, butt fusion and electrofusion
Sanitary warePans, cisterns, concealed frames, basins, trays, mixers and valves

Selection

Pipe systems and where each belongs

  • PPR PN20, plainCold distribution

The standard domestic pressure pipe. Fusion-welded joints that become a single piece of material, no threads to weep and no corrosion. Ideal on cold runs where thermal movement is not an issue.

  • PPR fibre-reinforcedHot distribution

A composite layer that cuts thermal expansion to a fraction of plain PPR. On a long hot run that difference is the whole argument — plain pipe will snake and push against its brackets, fibre pipe stays where you fixed it.

  • PVC & uPVC drainageSoil, waste & rainwater

Solvent-weld and ring-seal drainage in the standard diameters. Cheap, light, chemically indifferent and entirely unsuitable for hot pressurised water, which is the mistake that turns up on rushed jobs.

  • HDPE PE100Buried mains & irrigation

Tough, flexible, jointed by fusion so there is nothing buried that can work loose. The right material for the run from the boundary to the tank and for irrigation across a garden.

  • Copper tubeGas, chillers & specials

Where the specification calls for it, or where gas and chilled water lines make it the correct answer. Hard and soft tempers, capillary and compression fittings.

  • Sanitary ware & mixersFit-out

Pans, concealed frames, basins, trays and mixers, ordered against your bathroom layout. Concealed cistern frames in particular must be ordered before the walls are set out, not after.

Questions we get asked

Plumbing & Sanitary Supply — questions we get asked

Can I buy the materials and use my own plumber?
Yes, and most of what leaves here does exactly that. Supply only, no first-fix contract, trade terms. Bring the drawing or the fixture list and we will work through the take-off with you so the fittings are on site with the pipe — the commonest reason a plumber loses a day is not a missing length of pipe, it is a missing reducer or transition fitting that nobody counted.
What does PPR need to be welded properly?
Socket fusion with the correct tooling and some discipline. The pipe is cut square and clean, the pipe end and the fitting socket go onto the heated tool at around 260 degrees, they are held for a heating time set by diameter — a few seconds on 20 millimetre, a little longer as the size goes up — then pushed straight together to the marked insertion depth without twisting, and left still while they cool. Get it wrong in either direction and it shows. Under-heated joints let go under pressure. Over-heated joints squeeze a bead of molten material into the bore that restricts flow you can never get back. Pressure test the system and photograph it before anything is covered.
Which PPR class for hot water, and does the fibre pipe matter?
PN20 as the general domestic choice for hot and cold, PN25 where pressures or temperatures are higher. The fibre-reinforced version matters on hot runs specifically, and the reason is expansion. Plain PPR moves roughly 0.15 millimetres per metre for every degree of temperature rise, so a 10 metre hot run swinging 50 degrees wants to grow around 75 millimetres. That force goes into your brackets and your wall chases. Fibre-reinforced pipe cuts that movement to a fraction of it. Use plain on cold, fibre on hot, and put expansion loops in the long runs either way.
Can I use PVC for hot water?
No. PVC and uPVC drainage pipe is not a pressure pipe and it softens and deforms at hot water temperatures, so a hot line run in it will sag, distort at the joints and eventually fail. It sees a lot of misuse on rushed jobs because it is cheap and easy to glue. Hot and cold pressurised distribution goes in PPR, PEX or copper. PVC and uPVC belong in soil, waste and rainwater, and uPVC pressure pipe belongs in cold buried mains and irrigation.
Do you supply sanitary ware separately from the pipework?
Yes, in any combination — pipe alone, ware alone, or the whole bathroom as a materials list. The one thing worth getting right early is the concealed cistern frame. It is a structural item set into the wall before tiling, and its dimensions decide the pan height, the flush plate position and the wall build-up. Order it at first-fix stage, not when the tiling is finished, or the wall gets opened up again.
