The stone
About Imperial Grey.
Quarried in North Sinai, Imperial Grey is a fine-grained silver grey shot through with lighter crystalline veins that catch the light when the surface is polished. It is the Egyptian answer to the imported greys architects usually specify — Pietra Grey, Bardiglio — at a fraction of the landed cost, and it takes a mirror polish without the pitting that troubles softer greys.
